Supporting potential victims of Robert Scroggs
Last year, during a seemingly benign conversation with an involved parent, they mentioned that one of their children was seen privately by, the accused child abuser, Robert Scroggs over an extended period of time. Robert Scroggs was charged with abusing two children with special needs last year. At the time, I was surprised that Robert had been with the district for an extended period of time, and the parent seemed somewhat resigned. Since that conversation, I have met a few BSD employees that seem like their time would be best spent a good distance from kids. To do our part, below are the details from a recent press release from Premiere Law Group.
Press ReleaseFrom the press release:
"
Mr. Scroggs worked for Bellevue School District as a teacher at Newport High School from the 2002 - 2003 school year through the end of the 2011 - 2012 school years and again during the 2021 - 2022 and 2022 - 2023 school years.
He worked for the District during the second half of the 2019-2020 school year at Interlake High School.
During the 2020-2021 school year, he was assigned to Sammamish High School for two months and Bellevue High School for the second half of the school year.
During the 2023-2024 school year, he served as a substitute at Newport Heights, Somerset, Ardmore, and Phantom Lake Elementary Schools as well as Tyee Middle School, Newport High School, and the Evergreen Transition Center.
He also provided additional staff support to Newport Heights, Spiritridge, and Woodridge Elementary School programs during the second half of this year.
